How the Christmas Quest Worked in Chapter 1
Players could launch Chapter 1 either in single-player or multiplayer mode. Upon loading into the chapter, a quest prompt appeared on screen displaying a note:
To my dearest child, I've lost seven gift boxes here. Could you help me to find them? You can use the gift detector to help you.
Accepting the prompt gave the player a gift detector tool. The detector provided an audio cue: whenever the player got closer to a hidden gift box, the tool began beeping rapidly. Collecting a box did not require clicking or interacting with an action prompt; players simply needed to walk or step directly onto the item. The gifts spawned in fixed, set locations and did not randomize between runs.
All 7 Gift Box Locations
Recorded player walkthroughs confirm the specific path required to locate all seven gift boxes throughout the Chapter 1 layout:
- Hallway Ground Path: Located along the main starting route early in the chapter as you advance through the dark corridors.
- Behind the Upstairs Sofa: Located on the upper floor behind a couch.
- Behind the Restroom Toilet: Found tucked directly behind a toilet before players enter the ventilation shaft.
- Staircase Section: Positioned on the stairs while moving straight along the main corridor path.
- Generator Room: Located behind the door inside the generator area.
- Generator Exit / Room 401 Vent Route: Found behind the exit door leading out of the generator room after navigating the vent pathway near room 401.
- Final Exit Area: Placed along the floor directly before the final exit zone of the sequence.
Once all seven boxes were collected, a confirmation prompt appeared:
To my dearest child, thank you for finding the seven gift boxes. You can have a snowman lantern.
Snowman Lantern Features
The Snowman Lantern functions as an alternative light source to the default flashlight. When held, it illuminates the immediate surroundings and features a small snowman model enclosed inside the lantern housing. While the game also sells a standalone "Flashlight Brightness X2" game pass for 38 Robux to improve lighting, the Snowman Lantern served as a free cosmetic alternative earned through event exploration.
